One of my favorite singer songwriters, John Hiatt is releasing a new album. “Same Old Man” will be available May 27th.

Mostly a critical success instead of a commercial one, Hiatt continues to make music that speaks to my heart and soul. He’s one of those special artists you want to collect anything they record because you know it’s going to be great.

Ol’ Blue Eyes is back! Ten years after his death, Frank Sinatra returns to the Billboard charts with a new CD “Nothing But The Best.”

There’s a huge marketing campaign underway to re-release all new CD and DVD collections, starting with this CD. Plus a TV film festival, specials, and even a commemorative stamp.

So David Cook is the new American Idol.  He had my vote early on this season, although I was beginning to think David Archuleta would win after last night’s performances.

But when David Cook appeared on stage with ZZ Top tonight, well that was just perfect. He’s got a natural rock star vibe with the voice to go with it.  It’s cool to see my favorite contestant actually win for a change.

So congratulations to David Cook.  I’ll be looking for his new album later this year.
