Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago

Eric Clapton’s third Crossroads Guitar Festival
is happening this weekend at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois.

This year’s lineup of performers is just as awesome as the previous festival in 2007…

Albert Lee, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Robert Cray, James Burton, Jimmie Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Jonny Lang, Sheryl Crow, David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos, Steve Winwood, Robert Randolph, Louisiana’s slide guru Sonny Landreth, Doyle Bramhall II, Hubert Sumlin, Joe Bonamassa, John Mayer, Vince Gill and ZZ Top.

It’s been reported that Gregg Allman underwent successful liver transplant surgery, so the Allman Brothers Band will not be performing at Saturday’s Crossroads Guitar Festival.

The Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Band, along with Allman Brothers Band and Gov’t Mule guitarist Warren Haynes, will be performing with special guests.

Both of Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festivals were previously captured on DVD, but you don’t have to wait long to see this year’s show.

The guitar festival will be shown as a one night event in selected movie theatres nationwide as a special two-hour event on July 27th. Presented in HD beginning at 7:30 pm only on Tuesday July 27th, this special concert film will feature musical performances and artist interviews from this year’s day-long Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago‚Äôs Toyota Park.
