Dan Fogelberg, singer-songwriter-folk-rock-performer, passed away Sunday at age 56.
Fogelberg was another victim of prostate cancer, following Frank Zappa who also died prematurely from the same disease in 1993.
There’s an outpouring of emotion across the web and across the country for this gentle voice and beautiful soul, including pal Jackson Browne.
Some very moving words and advice can be read on his official website at www.danfogelberg.com/news.html.
Fogelberg recorded and released over twenty albums in his career, starting in 1972 with ‘Home Free. ‘1974’s ‘Souvenirs’ really launched his career and 1981’s ‘The Innocent Age’ spawned hits like “Leader of the Band”, “Same Old Lang Syne” & “Hard To Say.”

A great musician I will surely miss. Thanks for posting this and for the clip!
Hey, Thanks for your comment! I forgot to mention one of my favorite albums of his from 1978. Dan Fogelberg & Tim Weisberg’s “Twin Sons of Different Mothers” album was a great combination of players. My favorite track was “The Power of Gold,” but the entire album was really solid.

Thank you for sharing the info about the passing of Dan Fogelberg. Yes, he was so young to go, but he really left his mark. We will have his beautiful music and his superb guitar fingerwork to help remember him.
Souvenirs is one of my all-time favorite albums.
He was one of the greats, and so beautiful!
