Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert
Some time ago we posted about The Midnight Special, so we’re thinking we should give equal time to Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert. It was live rock and roll on late night TV, all the big acts of the day appeared on the show, and it was cool. Black Sabbath, T-Rex, Pat Benatar, Edgar Winter Group, UFO, KISS, Uriah Heep and even Waylon Jennings appeared on the show.
Here’s a clip from Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert with Styx, circa 1977 “Come Sail Away.”
We thought it was kind of funny that we mentioned Ted Nugent, then discovered a new interview with him the very next day. So we wonder who will surface from the past from this post?

The Midnight Special and Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert were the original must-see TV.
