Eddy Arnold, one of America’s most popular country singers, passed away on May 8th.

Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1966, he was voted the first Country Music Association’s Entertainer Of The Year the following year, and received the Academy of Country Music’s Pioneer Award in 1985.

Arnold has sold more than 85 million records and had 147 songs on the charts, including 28 Number One hits on Billboard’s “Country Singles” chart. His biggest hit was probably “Make The World Go Away.”
