Eric Clapton & Jeff Beck Together & Apart

Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck on tour together, how rare is that?

The two guitar giants are currently headlining 2 nights at Madison Square Garden, then they’re off to Toronto and Montreal for the two final shows of their historic tour together.

Clapton and Beck just finished two big shows at London’s O2 arena, playing to 20,000 fans in 3 sets.

Jeff Beck and his band; Jason Rebello on keyboards, Rhonda Smith on bass and Narada Michael Walden on drums, performed the first set, including “Led Boots, People Get Ready and A Day In The Life.”

Eric Clapton performed next with his band; Chris Stainton on keyboards, Willie Weeks on bass, and Steve Gadd on drums, along with backing vocals from Michelle John and Sharon White. Clapton opened his set with acoustic numbers “Layla and Running On Faith,” then segued into electric numbers “Tell The Truth and Key To The Highway.”

The third set was shared by both guitarists, thus the name of this short but historic tour, dubbed the ‘Together and Apart’ tour. That’s enough to make you want to Shake Your Moneymaker!

Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck have granted their first joint interview to Rolling Stone, and also appear on the current magazine cover.

The pair hit stages in Toronto on February 21st, and Montreal on the 22nd, wrapping up this once-in-a-lifetime rock n’ roll dream tour.

Side Notes: Eric Clapton and his band tour the United States beginning Feb. 25th through March 13th. Clapton and Steve Winwood reunite for a round of shows in May and June. The 2010 version of Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival takes place on June 26th in Toyota Park, IL.
