Fans On The Run

Great article by Paul Farhi, a Washington Post Staff Writer.

He writes about Paul McCartney’s motivation. What drives this 67 year old pop icon to keep playing these huge concerts; to stay on the road touring for months at a time?

One look at his tour calendar tells it all. McCartney just played multiple dates at New York’s Citi Field, appeared on David Letterman’s show, performed at the Ed Sullivan Theater, and has six more concerts scheduled in August.

August 1 Landover, MD @ FedExField
8/5 & 8/6 Boston, MA @ Fenway Park
8/15 Atlanta, GA @ Piedmont Park
8/17 Tulsa, OK @ BOK Center
8/19 Arlington, TX @ the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium

Surely he doesn’t need the money or the fame. We believe Paul is one of those rare individuals who is truly blessed with so much talent that they just have to channel it into making music. Lucky for us fans they have alot of it, so we can enjoy a new album of their songs on a regular basis.

Irish band The Script is opening the show on some dates.
