Guitar Center partners with Dell & AMD for digital recording

Guitar Center has announced they will be selling Dell computers with Dual-Core AMD processors to be used for professional digital audio recording. I have nothing against Dell, in fact I use their computers at work and at home. But Windows Media Player only works about half the time, and Windows Vista only works with half of my existing hardware, so I wonder what operating system they plan to use?

If they want to offer a stable recording environment for serious musicians, I hope they have a better platform to use all the high end recording software that’s available today. Guitar Center already offers special deals on Apple Macs that are bundled with a specialized recording interface and software. And that is the top choice for professional musicians and recording artists. So Dell will really have to prove themselves to get their systems into the studio.
