Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top

Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer has released his autobiography, “Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top.” Not only does he describe his incredible ride to the top with one of rock’s most successful bands, but he also shares his personal highs and lows, including his battle with substance abuse and resulting rehab and therapy.

I haven’t read the book yet, but it’s on my “to-do list,” along with the autobiography by Nick Mason, drummer for Pink Floyd. You know that’s gotta be good; lots of great behind-the-scenes stories in that band!

I’ve read and enjoyed other books by great musicians; Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Linda Ronstadt, Levon Helm and David Crosby. Their perspective and insight from long and successful careers is always enlightening.

Joey Kramer reveals some of the book’s hard hitting subject matter in this video.
