Obama Inauguration Concerts

The inaugural concerts are a great American experience, so it just felt natural to have Bruce Springsteen start off the show. Beyonce, Stevie Wonder and U2 also topped a bill that drew music legends together to celebrate the inauguration of Barack Obama, as the 44th President of the United States on Tuesday, January 20th.
Mary J. Blige, Jon Bon Jovi, Bettye LaVette, James Taylor, John Legend, and Shakira also performed at the ‘We Are One’ Inaugural Concert last Sunday. The 89 year old Pete Seeger was there as well, proving that ‘old folkies’ never die, they just come around for another chorus.
There’s a lot of musical celebrations surrounding this historic presidential inauguration, with major media coverage on all the news and music channels. I’ve already seen pictures on Flickr from Sunday’s concert. A record four million people are expected to arrive in Washington D.C., but some news sources say it will probably be more like two million.
History does indeed show us that the presidential inauguration is a great American experience, with music in our heart and soul. Take a look at the stars that sang and played for our past presidents…
