Paul & Ringo Play for Peace
EW.com posted some great news about Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. The two surviving Beatles will perform together again, along with Ben Harper, Bettye Lavette, Donovan, Eddie Vedder, Jim James, Moby, Paul Horn and Sheryl Crow.
The Charity Begins Within concert is a benefit for the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness Based Education and World Peace, and takes place on April 4th.
Wow, will all that fit on a business card? What’s it mean?
The David Lynch Foundation promotes transcendental meditation (TM) in schools, and this concert aims to involve over a million children worldwide in a global introduction to the simple natural technique of TM.
This will be the first time Paul and Ringo have performed together since 2002. But they’re not strangers to TM. They both studied transcendental meditation in 1968 under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, when they trekked to India along with George Harrison and John Lennon. Remember? They were just trying to get some peace. Then they wrote and recorded the white album. Savoy Truffle, anyone?
