Springsteen Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show
I’ve heard more about the racy PETA advertisement in the upcoming Super Bowl, than the actual game or the teams playing this Sunday. But we’re more concerned with Halftime…The Springsteen Super Bowl Show.
Blogs go on and on about…”what songs will Bruce and the E Street Band PLAY?” Well how many songs can you play in 12 minutes? It sounds like a medley to me, but you just KNOW The Boss will start with “Born to Run” and finish with “Born in the USA.”
But maybe the song selections depend on what team you’re on. Let’s dial the request line from both locker rooms, and see which hits get picked to play…
The Cardinals will be hoping for a “Reason to Believe” because they’re “Countin’ On a Miracle.” Arizona believes in “No Surrender,” because they’re “Working On a Dream.”
The Steelers believe “We Shall Overcome” because they’re “Born To Run.” Pittsburgh may revive their “Glory Days” in the “Land of Hope and Dreams.”
Some other Springsteen songs that come to mind…”Cover Me, None But the Brave, The Promised Land, Your Own Worst Enemy, and maybe even the Long Walk Home.” That would be the theme song for the losing team of course.
We know Jennifer Hudson will sing the national anthem (and how!), and Faith Hill will sing “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa this Sunday.
Bruce Springsteen’s new album ‘Working On a Dream’ just came out last week. This halftime show will actually kick off his world tour in support of the album.
