It did not take long for the firing of Scott Weiland from Velvet Underground to turn into an announcement that the Stone Temple Pilots have put together a North American 65 city tour.
The Tour will kick off at Rock On The Range Festival in Columbus, OH on May 17. Check the Ticketmaster website for the schedule and ticket availablitlity.
Of course this also opens up all kinds of rumors about a Guns & Roses reunion since Velvet Revolver has 3/4 of the original members of GNR, but I would not expect this to happen. The split of GNR was pretty ugly and it would require Slash and Axl Rose to bury the hatchet.

CNN Entertainment has a great article about all the rock and roll autobiographies in the bookstores this holiday season. Of course, I’m buying the Eric Clapton book first, but there’s also new titles from these great (and not so great) artists…
Currently Available:
Bob Dylan (from 2004)
Genesis (currently on tour)
Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue)
Ronnie Wood (Faces & Rolling Stones)
Slash (Velvet Revolver & Guns & Roses)
Sting (The Police)
Publishing Soon:
Axl Rose
Gram Parsons
Keith Richards
Pete Townshend
There’s a kicker to this article too…Keith Richards was paid $7 million for his story, but Mick Jagger was actually offered a book deal first. Only he couldn’t remember anything to write about!

According to a new book/memoir, “Bumping Into Geniuses,” by music business big guy Danny Goldberg: “(Axl) Rose had the kind of macho rock persona that Kurt (Cobain) detested” and avoided Rose as much as possible, even refusing to do a big money band tour together. In fact, one time Axl Rose threatened Kurt and wife, Courtney Love, at a music festival. This makes sense to me. Axl has always been known as a loose cannon. And often thought he was hot shit. But there’s no proof either. It onl
Kurt Cobain had an Axl to grind Fans of Kurt Cobain continue to mourn the Nirvana rocker. But Cobain’s 1994 suicide did have one upside: he didn’t have to listen to loathsome Axl Rose anymore. Cobain was willing to do a few things in the interest of rock stardom, record business eminence Danny Goldberg recalls in his poignant and funny memoir, “Bumping Into Geniuses.” In fact, when MTV chief Judy McGrath was so insistent on Nirvana appearing on the MTV Awards, Cobain left rehab, according t

Fourteen years in the making, it looks like Guns ‘N Roses’ long awaited Chinese Democracy is finally set to be released (without Shaq’s freestyle). Just to put this in perspective, it took the Beatles ten years to record and release their entire discography. What does this mean? Well, either Chinese Democracy is going to be 14 times better than Rubber Soul or Axl Rose has been smoking way too much weed. Either way, let’s take a look at what else has happened since the braided one started wor
Back on June 17th 2008 a leak of nine allegedly “mastered, finished” tracks from Guns N’ Roses’ long- delayed “Chinese Democracy” spiked a renewed circle of talk about whether the Axl Rose-led band will finally release the 14-years-in-the-making “Chinese Democracy“ album. Some solid indications are finally emerging, suggesting that the album’s release could be imminent. That’s because, according to sources, negotiations are in the progress for “Chinese Democracy” to appear as an exclusive at o
Here at Rumors In Music, I am officially dedicating an entire category of the blog to the release of the highly anticipated Guns N Roses album, Chinese Democracy. Buried in a deep legend after Guns N Roses lost some of their band members because Axl Rose is a douchebag, comes the legend of the mythical, never-to-be released album, Chinese Democracy. It’s been told that the mighty Chinese Democracy holds some raw power of that unlike we’ve ever seen, and only one can unleash it’s energy…..is….
Well, it was only a matter of time: yet another song from Axl Rose’s revamped Guns N’ Roses has leaked online, and, as usual, it’s surrounded in some mystery: it would seem obvious that the song is “Shackler’s Revenge,” which is scheduled to appear on the new edition of the Rock Band video game next [...]

THE CHANGING FACE OF AXL ROSE Rock star Axl Rose was the target of astonishingly harsh criticism this week for the outcome of his reputed plastic surgery a couple years ago. His critics, it seems, want their image of him to remain frozen in the past. In Monday’s repeat of an earlier recording of a CNN “Showbiz Tonight” segment, e
W. Axl Rose (b. 1985, Basingstoke, UK) is the frontman of popular pop/rock combo The Guns And Also The Roses. Prior to forming the band, Rose was a child actor, whose most notable role was playing ‘Data’ in The Goonies. The Guns And Also The Roses have sold in excess of many records - more than Def Leppard, but less than AC/DC. Rose has previously dated Nicole Kidman, Sarah Ferguson, Kirsten Dunst and Bret Michaels. Rose is also known for technological innovations. In 1991, he patente

The heat is making my head hurt today, totally killing my focus unless I take breaks. Taking breaks is always good, but mine get longer and longer, until they totally makes me fail my goals. Wikipedia started it. I wanted to check up on that Robin guy who apparently left Guns n’ Roses, going back to Nine Inch Nails. Now, Axl Rose might be crazy or just slightly too much of a perfectionist, but why you’d want to go to NIN is beyond me… Anyway, that lead to the Guns n’ Roses entry on Wikipedia,
