Hardcore Gamers Vs. Casual Gamers: Round 1 vortis | 6 hours 59 mins ago | Blog | Misc "This isnt just a competition between better features or more players, this is a battle of the ages; bigger than Godzilla versus Barbie, or Rambo versus Bill Cosby. Heck, this is even bigger than Steven Seagal versus weight loss. This is all about the hardcore gamer taking on the casual gamer. Which one of these social groups does the video game community better justice?" 2 comments | go to source

Mark Warner and Barack Obama on the campaign trail in Virginia. (flickr) Friday afternoon, former Virginia state Sen. Russ Potts, who once ran for governor as an independent, opened his Winchester home for a landmark event. Ten prominent Republicans gathered to endorse the Senate campaign of former Gov. Mark Warner before a fund-raiser attended by 200 people — Republicans, Democrats, independents. More than a fund-raiser, or even a grand photo-op, the event signaled just how powerful a grip W
“President George W. Bush did 9/11. No Shit. Really.” So says Mike Palecek at the very top of his website. This declaration is a fair summation of his new short novel Guests of the Nation, a novel that Palecek sent to Irregular Times with the request that we write a review. While written in the form of a work of fiction, its purpose is clearly to try and advance a conspiratorial tale regarding the attacks of September 11, a tale in which: an elevator company supposedly servicing the World Tr

My strangely titled guest-post yesterday at HughHewitt.com compares Barack Obama to Bill Cosby/Cliff Huxtable in terms of his familiarity and, insofar as his race is concerned, non-threateningness. But I argue that it's fine, indeed appropriate, to be afraid of him, and to withhold one's vote from him, for reasons having nothing to do with race. Within moments, of course, a comment appeared there accusing me of "spreading the hate."

When Bill Cosby lost his son at the hands of a thief and murderer someone in the media asked him how he handled the bitter tragedy. Cosby responded, "Gotta laugh, just gotta laugh. My son would want it that way." During this political season when things get a little interesting and exhausting we need a shot of comic relief out there. The foot-in-mouth diseased Joe Biden provided such relief yesterday on the campaign trail. Now anyone who knows me and reads this blog comprehends that I belong to
Perhaps it's part of a journey towards [Jesus'] truth, not just ours. - Archbishop of Canterbury, from the sermon for the International Mass at LourdesIs starting one's day with orange juice and a brownie a bad idea or a good idea? We shall soon see. I have Bill Cosby playing in my head right now as he defends his choice to serve his children grapefruit juice and chocolate cake for breakfast ("These are not your children!"). Some days demand a little dietary absurdity. Fortunately the coffee
I've made my way to Yonge and St. Clair. I'm sitting beside Humble, watching the action. I actually couldn't tap into this highly encrypted EZ Rock WiFi, but Humble has given me access to his PC. What a sweetie... 5:54 - They just played Johnny Nash. Apparently that happens a lot. By the way, before I forget... I heard Kid Rock on EZ Rock this morning. No foolin'... The room is smaller than I expected. Heather and Andy are on one side of the desk and I'm on the side with Colleen, Kim and Humb
By CHRIS PACKHAM I posted all my stuff late yesterday, sorry, I was drunk or something? So here's another link to my review of the excellent musical show I attended on Wednesday night. I'm trying to get the Music Editor to cover my alibi in court next week over some bullshit beef about property damage to some stupid playground for underprivileged children or something. Apparently, some drunk crashed my car through it in the middle of the night and fled the scene, but anyway, if you leave enoug

10. SIDNEY POITIER (1927 - ) Poitier's breakthrough as the first African-American actor fully recognized as a leading man and star secured him a permanent place in the cultural history of the movies, but his status as a major actor and one of the great talents of his day may have eroded a little. In part this is because a lot of the movies he starred in were high-minded tosh that have dated very badly, not least because of the perceived need to present Poitier's characters as being superhu

Heather Cosby tagged me to share this with all of you so, here goes... 4 things I was doing 10 years ago: 1- Working at Vineyard Music Group - Yes, I was hired on as their Wholesale Music Sales Director. It was one of the best jobs I've ever had and that entire experience was still one of the best seaons of my life. I loved VMG, I loved working with a "dream team" that included Dave Hackbarth, Jeff Searles, Brock Shinen, Lee Swope, Paul Martin, Brian Eichler and Chris Wimber. Chris was one of

When Logan and I first met, he was 26 years old and still living like he’d just gotten out of college. He lived in a crappy apartment with a semi-idiot for a roommate, dressed like a surfer dude, and had hair down past his shoulders (which actually has nothing to do with living like he he’d just gotten out of college, but much to do with why I was determined to meet him). He did have a real, live, actual job, and a car, so in that way he was one up on a few of my previous boyfriends who had lac
