I can’t recall seeing any concert event this big since Woodstock, which was “half a million strong,” remember? Well, 500,000 fans saw Genesis play a free, open-air concert in Rome’s historic Circo Massimo last July. It was at the end of their European tour after [...]
Doug Ferguson offers this strong counterpoint to the euphoria over the European Tour's "Race to Dubai" and talk of player defections: Tiger Woods does not plan to join. What the last four months have shown is that if Woods doesn't play, does anyone care? And while $20 million sounds like a lot in Europe, the FedExCup pays $35 million in bonus money, with four $7 million tournaments leading up to that. It still pays to play on the PGA Tour, which is why so many Europeans do.
Yngwie Malmsteen's new album Perpetual Flame confirms that 2008 is very much his year. A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure to speak directly with guitar legend Yngwie Malmsteen (see link below). We agreed that 2008 was quickly developing into a very special year for him. First, he had just finished the highly successful European leg of his tour and was just about to begin dates in North America. Also, he was about to be inducted...

Although my New York City visit ended several weeks ago I still had some footage I wanted to get up for you, so here are the final two videos from my awesome time in the Big Apple. This first video features a two minute interview with Alex from Guruofsales.com, who is a huge fan of my blog - so much so that he tracked me down while I was in New York, coming into Manhattan from Jersey by subway. The video also includes exploring the markets and by far the highlight of my trip to NY - the ice
We know some of you are DYING for deets about Que and Dawn’s love life and Aubrey’s future in Danity Kane. But based on what we’ve seen this season, we’re thinking all of you want to hear more about Day26 — particularly Willie and his amazing disappearing tank top. So we got Que on the phone to find out what the guys have been up to lately. Turns out, they’ve been touring all over Europe and, as Que puts it, “trying to get closer and closer as a group. We really want to be like brothers beca
The European Poker Tour London Main Event came to a conclusion as Michael Martin of the USA took down the title after a great comeback win. At one point in the tournament Martin was holding onto an almost irrelevant chip stack, but he would survive for much longer than people expected as he returned to win the EPT London Main Event and the £1,000,000 first prize. Anthony Lellouche entered final table play with the second largest stack but would be the first to exit as he had no success at th
EMI Music is thrilled to announce that it has signed an exclusive worldwide deal with multi-platinum recording artists Depeche Mode. by Robert Carlton World Golf tournaments are some of the most popular golf events today, as well as Junior Golf tournaments. Keeping younger golfers interested in the game is important the future of golf. Without the interest of junior golfers the professional sport would, gradually, dwindle and fade. Fortunately, professional golfer Tiger Woods sparked a new interest in golf for the younger population and also renewed the interest from the more mature golf fans. Professional Golf Association
If Microsoft Word doesn't stop crashing and losing all my work, I'm going to start charging Bill Gates for lost man hours. More recap icons! Today's Journal Birthmonth Flashback: Let's be lazy and link to The Happening in Fifteen Minutes from earlier this summer, since it's out on DVD today. I highly recommend that you at least Netflix it or something, if only to shock and amaze yourself with the number of things I did not, in fact, make up. (Extramarital dessert... the mood ring... Jump to the full entry & travel map Brugge, West Flanders, Belgium Hello Bonjour everyone! Well, Belgium is one interesting little country! After five days here, I think we can safely say we have discovered this great place! Basically, Belgium is divided into two parts: Wallonia in the south, is hilly and rocky terrain, very beautiful and is French. Flanders in the north is flat terrain, still very beautiful (ah, the prairies!) and is Dutch. We've spent a couple days in Brussels, and a c

Rapidly vanishing lines of credit are not only taking their toll on inflated asset prices and the global financial markets in general, but also in the willingness of companies to not only underwrite sporting events, but also to market their brands through athletes. During financial stress, marketing budgets are historically one of the first to get slashed, and this current slowdown is no exception. One of the sports which will be hit the hardest in the coming months and year(s) will be golf.
Biohazard have announced that they have been forced to cancel the bands proposed concerts in Croatia on their upcoming European tour which is scheduled to start at the Corporation in Sheffield, England on November 2nd.
