Top 10 Monster Hits of Halloween

Gibson Guitars website has a great article posted about the top ten monster songs for Halloween. Author Russell Hall added a nice touch by including a YouTube video for each song. I agree with most of the picks, but a couple of these tunes really spooked me!

A Missing Punchline

I came home from work today, and (((Wife))) had cut this out, laminated it, and tossed it onto the refrig.  Of course, she had to add an even better punchline:Frankenstein’s monster:  “So tell me, reverend, am I a creationist of an evolutionist?”Priest ((((Wife’s))) addition): “No, you came back from the dead.  You’re Jesus!”

CES Day 1: Sony's 7 Imperatives: Openness is Good, but Not Entirely

After an 18 hour sojourn to get to Las Vegas yesterday (thank you, US Airways), I settled down this morning to hear Consumer Electronics Association President Gary Shapiro’s “State of the Industry” address as well as Sony Chairman and CEO Sir Howard Stringer’s Keynote. Gary’s address was particularly notable for its video opening, which included Gary embedded in a series of old movies - as Groucho Marx in “Duck Soup”, as Dr. Frankenstein, as George Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” among other

Finally, the Horror Film Doc We've Been Hoping For

If there's one thing that immediately strikes you while watching Joseph Maddrey and Andrew Monument's Nightmares in Red, White and Blue, it's that Lance Henriksen has got a future in voiceovers. The haggard actor's grim, resonant baritone instantly captivates as he takes the viewer on a journey through the history of the American horror film, from Edison's Frankenstein right to the present day.And what a journey it is. Based on Maddrey's 2004 book, this as-yet-undistributed doc, produced/written

Oh My Nose! (Correction: Oh HIS Nose)

(At Left: Marsha said: Oh, My Nose!  Nowadays, guys may be walking into the surgeons office and saying “Give me Bobby’s!”  Nose, that is.  Read on.) I had some downtime this afternoon after a busy morning, and was sitting down and flipping through the channels. One channel was playing reruns of “The Swan.” You surely remember that show, or at least the premise. It rode the beginning wave of the Frankenstein makeover shows. Of course, it was from the same time frame as “Extreme Makeover,” which

The Resurrection: She's A-L-I-I-I-V-E!

No, I am not referring to myself as Young Frankenstein (although if you catch me first thing in the morning...maybe). I'm referring to my long, unintended, unannounced absence from my blog. I have no idea if any of you are still out there (and I suppose if you're not there is no one to blame but myself) but if you are THANK YOU.  I even missed my own blogging anniversary (Dec. 30) - can you say L-O-S-E-R? I initially took a break to concentrate on a writing course I'm taking at UCLA (which I hav
