The Wish Tree
Englemann Oak at Santa Rosa Plateau, my photo. Early in August, Yoko Ono opened a project in Pasadena. The installation, "Wish Trees", is 21 small crape myrtle trees at the One Colorado mall. Passer-bys are invited to write a wish and tie it to a tree. Ono doesn't plan to read the wishes; she plans to store them in the Imagine Peace Tower of the coast of Iceland. Yoko Ono celebrates John's birthday in Iceland
Yoko Ono arrives in Iceland today to present the Lennon-Ono Peace Prize and to reignite the Imagine Peace Tower. The Peace Prize will be presented in Reykjavik tomorrow, October 9, John Lennon's birthday. The Tower is inscribed with "Imagine Peace" in many languages and shines a bright light pointing upwards which can be seen for many miles.
