December 3, 2008 — Julian Chadwick If for some reason you haven’t been to one of the Goodfoot Lounge’s First Thursday art shows, this will be one of the best of the year. Poor Burger King. Their garbage food is so delicious but they are never going to win. Their war on McDonald's is like Pepsi taking on Coke. Literally. There's obviously not a joke there, it's just the same thing. In each instance the second tier corporation with the smaller market share tries to put an end to the dominating corporation's controlling stake in the industry. But to no avail. Which is why Burger King can trot out its clever Subservient Chickens and it's Improv Everywhere Missions a
Nom, nom, nom. Today’s Hunky Hump Day stud, Simon Baker, was brought to you by none other than our own tattoedintellectual. He’s on the TV show “The Mentalist” and has been in some movies or something totally uninteresting like that. Isn’t he just dreamy? Look how cute he is in this period costume. I’ll bet his head itches. Here’s a totally ghey video of him dancing like wiserbud. Action starts at 2:20 video courtesy of MoZ Critical Update (To reduce the ghey): Courtesy of wiserbud. You’re we
The finish line at the 41st Annual SCORE Baja 1000 was as dramatic as it was historic. Racing a pair of stock Arctic Cat Prowlers, the Bi-Polar/Arctic Cat team beat the brutal conditions to finish first and second place in the world’s longest, continuous off-road race. It was the first time in race history a side-by-side UTV vehicle has finished what is widely regarded as the most grueling off-road race in the world. Reid Rutherford complemented the historic triumph with a fifth-place finish
Hey BNR Fans,
November 2008 marked our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY. Like any show, BNR certainly had its ups and downs during our first year. What started out as a goof on a message board (thanks Bluto) quickly became the #1 bodybuilding/fitness show in the world and through our provocative guests and questions, BNR made national headlines.
However, as Spiderman's Uncle Ben said, "With great power c
Everyone likes root beer. Its distinctive taste is comforting yet entirely mysterious and unique. There are many kinds to purchase at the store. A&W, Dad’s, Hires, and my favorite, Virgil’s, are all unique and delicious. Buying root beer, like buying beer, is convenient. However, it just doesn’t seem right that this king of non-alcoholic beverages remain a commercial product. I, Justin Garrity and friend of Dave’s, decided to brew my own batch and tear down the wall that separates tee

Before we get to this week’s Peter King evisceration, I’d be remiss not to point out that Paul Zimmerman (Dr. Z) suffered two strokes last week. We’ve had our fun with the old man here on this site. After all, Dr. Z is the kind of old crank who would complain about the factual inaccuracies of 10,000 BC. He also once said he’d let Dick Vermeil in the Hall Of Fame because he sent him some nice wine, which makes me want to fucking choke him on his gurney. All that aside, I hope he gets better.
How much do you love Carrie Underwood? What would you do for some tickets to one of her concerts? At 9 a.m. on Friday about half a dozen of those carazzy Canadian fans took HANK FM's challenge for the "Undercovers for Underwood" contest and crawled into bed to see who could stay in it the longest in order to win floor seats to Carrie's concert on Tuesday in Winnipeg. Four king-sized beds were pushed together and that was to be the contestants home for a few hours. "I didn't think lying i

Columbia Pictures has a long, rich history of making movies. It was one of the original studios of Hollywood’s ‘Golden Age’. Like every other studio it’s been bought and trading numerous times over the years. Currently it’s part of the Sony conglomerate, but with the large bankroll backing it, it’s become one of the largest filmmaking companies in the world. Fresh for a holiday gift for that cinephile in your family is a cleverly package box set containing every Best Picture Academy Award winn

Justin is still exploring the Bermuda Triangle, so yours truly fills in for the 2nd of 3 days. It was a fantastic day for college football, and football in general. Georgia Tech won 45-42 over Georgia in a classic, Grambling beat Southern, Alabama and Florida both won big, and Va. Tech beat Virginia and they are in the ACC Championship Game. I won't touch the BCS because it's not worth it, so before I get to the links I want to talk about objectivity. Pete Prisco is to me as Peter King is to
As we flew home yesterday after celebrating Thanksgiving down south, I was reading the most recent issue of Rolling Stone magazine. In case you haven’t yet seen it, their cover story is the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time. I’m not gonna list my top 100, or even the people I would delete from their list, because that would require way too much work…and I’m allergic to that. Suffice it to say approximately half the people on their list would also be on my list. However, if I ever did undertake
Sports Staff Think Mount Carmel football and two words come to mind: Coal Region. Those two words serve up sturdy images of power football. Grind-it-out, gut-it-out football. Three yards-and-a-cloud of coal dust football. Except that this Mount Carmel team doesn’t fit the stereotype of a ground-bound Coal Region team. Instead, the Red Tornadoes have done just what their nickname implies. They’ve taken flight 216 times, traveled the airwaves for 2,003 yards and touched down in the end zon
