Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreak Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak debuts at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. However, Kanye's College Dropout debuted with 441k sales, Late Registration with 860k and Graduation with 957k while 808s & Heartbreak drops back to 450k. Yes, he's still the man and, sure, album sales are tanking but is "Rappa Ternt Sanga" really the smartest career move for the esteemed Mr. West? Speaking of tanking sales, Luda experiences the sadness of debuting

Music like this is why simply “good” music (read: Ludacris) doesn’t do it for me anymore. I’m not really trying to fuck with it unless it’s on some new, different shit. I’ve heard a lot about U-N-I and I’ve always been impressed by their music but I’m still largely unfamiliar with them. This track definitely has me interested in hearing more from these guys though. Check it out. U-N-I - “Hollywood Hiatus (Cool It Now)” If anything, it’s good to finally get some decent hip-hop from the West
Black Friday fueled the domestic record sales market last week, with millions of Americans flocking to the electronic stores that carry CDs. An exciting week to begin with, Kanye West assumed his pole position with his departure from rapping 808’s & Heartbreak. The release significantly under-sold last year’s Graduation and sold less first week numbers than Beyonce saw last week with her I Am…Sasha Fierce despite an extra day of sales (amidst a holiday week).
By Andrea Tantaros Republican Political Commentator/Foxnews.com Contributor After gobs of money, a barrage of advertising and even an appearance by rapper Ludacris, we finally have an outcome in the Georgia circus (aka: special election) and it’s good news for Republicans. Incumbent Saxby Chambliss defeated his opponent, Jim Martin by a large margin (58 percent to 42 percent). Sure, the massive amounts of cash the Republicans channeled south of the Mason-Dixon line helped, and the idea of a

Check out this picture from a Boston Globe article on today’s runoff election: The caption below the photo says, “Jim Martin, the Democrat vying for the US Senate seat in Georgia, posed with rappers (from left) T.I., Young Jeezy, and Ludacris during a campaign rally in Atlanta.” Here’s a question I have: who in their right mind thought, in a state-wide runoff, it would be a good idea to have Martin appear at public venues with these Kings of Misogyny? The article is actually pretty good in

Ed. note: This rant comes courtesy of Eric Snider and Tampa Calling. Pretty much any time a music critic of my, um, seasoning takes a stand against something trendy, he (she) runs the risk of being labeled an old fart. But I don’t think I’m succumbing to old-fartism when I say that the rampant use of Auto-Tune in today’s pop music is a scourge that I hope ends up in the dustbin of bad fads after a few more mouse clicks. Auto-Tune? You may know it by its previous incarnations as a Vocoder or
