I was reading another one of the many stories about the Beatles music being available on iTunes, which turned about to be just another rumor. These are all over the internet but Sony music, who owns the licensing, denies any of these stories as true. At the end of this particular story on applesource, [...]
Mariah Carey performed Christmas, (Baby Please Come Home) at last nights Grammy Nominations Concert. I love her, but she seriously needs to loosen up on stage. She looks so stiff and almost afraid to move around when she is singing. Do you see that too? Granted she is one of the best, if not THE best singers of our time. And look how festive she looked. So Christmas-ie. Nick must be so proud to call her his little Mrs. Clause. Crotch grabbing Lil Wayne picked up 8 nods, while Cold Play got 6.

(A couple of) Grammy nominations announced live Lil' Wayne got eight for Tha Carter III while Coldplay's Viva La Vida got seven. "Every Christmas, I go to Aspen with my mom, who comes in from Prague, and my husband, Rossano. Everybody's there: Mariah Carey, Jack Nicholson, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas. It's a mix of New York and Hollywood. You have Diane von Furstenberg, who's part of the professional crowd—they're all business. And then there are the other people, like Don Johnson, who just want to ski with their families. During the holidays, half of Madison Avenue goes to St. Barts and the other half goes to
The Grammy Museum will open downtown this weekend, but on Wednesday night the venerable awards brand was trying to prove it's no relic in this "American Idol" era. The nominations for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards were announced Wednesday not at some early-morning news conference -- as they have been in the past -- but sprinkled in a one-hour prime-time special featuring performances by Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and other stars singing classic songs at the Nokia Theatre. It was a move that c
Give them this: It wasn’t the same-old same-old at the nationally broadcast Grammy nominations Wednesday. New faces and fresh voices dominated, led by the bullfrog rasp of New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne, who piled up eight nominations, including album of the year. He was followed by Coldplay with seven nominations, and six each for R&B singer Ne-Yo, and rappers Jay-Z and Kayne West. Radiohead nailed five nominations, even though they initially released their 3-million-selling 2007 al
My childhood Christmas memories consist of baking candy cane cookies with my mom, trying to find hidden Christmas presents, and these three album covers: When I listen to these albums (well, CD’s now), I still remember sprinkling the crushed candy cane and sugar mixture over the candy cane cookies when they were fresh from the oven. My Christmas music collection has grown over the years to include nearly 200 artists singing everything from Silent Night to I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.

Britney Spears just performed her “comeback” tracks on Good Morning America yesterday, and she looked good! It sure does look like she’s making a successful comeback, which got me thinking. One of the more surprising comeback albums, to me, was American Recordings, by Johnny Cash. This was surprising because John
