1971 was a great year [...]

The dirt, the grim and the GMC plant. Spewing out smoke, ash,and chemicals were all part of the landscape in the late 60's, in Flint Michigan. A Blue collar town, with long hours and hard workers if you didn't work at THE PLANT you were pretty screwed. I remember turning on the mike every night and watching the red glow of the on air light in the engineers booth cast an eerie glow over the turntables as the lp's spun continuously. flac The sound is very good - sounds like soundboard to me, although the mix loses vocals in some spots. It's all here except for the Johnny Winter set, which was commercially released. Have included a bunch of small graphics which look like they came out of the program for the festival. 'Complete' sets from Chicago Transit Authority James Cotton Blues Band Janis Joplin

The band was formed by Flint, Michigan guitarist/songwriter Mark Farner and drummer Don Brewer, both former members of a local band called Terry

Billy Sheehan Played with Talas, David Lee Roth, Steve Vai and G3 and perhaps most significantly the brilliant jazz-rock fusion band, N

It was produced by Terry Knight. "Time Machine", the band's first single release, barely broke the top 50 in the singles charts. However, after the success of their second album "Grand Funk" (aka the Red Album) "On Time" went gold shortly thereafter in 1970, one of four RIAA Gold Record Awards fo
