A SCHOOLBOY has landed a starring role in a new West End musical about Michael Jackson - after hearing about it in thelondonpaper. Kieron Alleyne, 13, who says Jacko is his "idol", was told about our story last month about the new show, Thriller Live!, and attended open auditions to cast its young lead. Last night’s opening gala at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex in Soho featured circus food, rockin’ hair makeovers and music stars’ paraphernalia enshrined behind glass. The party was the official launch for the Cleveland-based museum’s new outlet at 76 Mercer St.

You probably don’t remember 1987. If you do, then you probably have hazy memories of wearing aviator sunglasses, big leather jackets and fingerless gloves. Top Gun was on TV. Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ was blasting out of radios everywhere. But away from the mainstream the first seeds of acid house were being sowed by four house music lovers in Chicago; DJ Pierre, Marshall Jefferson, Spanky and Herb Jackson. Together, under their alias Phuture, they created the world’s first acid house record calle

George E. Curry, Chicago Defender - A trip from Gatwick Airport to London’s central city is visible confirmation that national entities are no longer restricted to imaginary geographical boundaries. But the leading U.S. import for Blacks living in the United Kingdom is the modern Civil Rights Movement. That was made clear repeatedly recently as an American delegation accompanied Jesse Jackson to London, Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham and Liverpool. Everywhere he went in the U.K., the civi
850. Bring out a correspondence course about how to write screenplays for feature films. There is obviously a lot of skill involved in writing a screenplay and there are numerous people who would be willing to pay to learn. 851. Publish poetry in a way similar to music sheets. On a printed folded sheet feature a main poem and maybe 3 or 4 support poems. Get these ‘poem sheets’ stocked at bookshops and newsagents. The price might be the same as a daily newspaper. Also organise a chart of
Michael Jackson was supposed to go to the UK to speak at London’s High Court when his legal advisers called him off. Jacko’s legal party has apparently reached a settlement in principle with Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Khalifa over his lawsuit which alleged that Jacko reneged on a contract. Details of the settlement are unknown. In addition to $7 million while he was living in Bahrain, Jacko asked the sheikh for help with legal fees, a subsidized lifestyle during a stay in the prince’s home,

It looked okay in Mozilla Firebird, but I carefully checked it in Internet Explorer 5 again. All of the floats seemed to be shepherding their content perfectly, so I uploaded the final version of my CSS file. That was five years ago. Or, if you want to relive the times, fives years ago. (Yeah, I know, the only difference is that visitors to v1 were more prone to cut themselves on the sharp corners.) I can't decide whether five years is a long time or a fleeting moment. But i do know that

Britney, Britney, Britney! Everywhere you turn lately, the one time Queen of Pop Britney Spears' is in your face. In addition to celebrating a birthday yesterday, she also released her sixth studio album Circus, and is in the middle of a promotional tour. One could say she's having a pretty big week. So, is the new album any good? Critics seem to think so. Rolling Stone Magazine (which Britney recently graced the cover of) gave it 3.5 stars out of 5, which is a pretty high rating, and they
