EVERYTHING RIGHT IS WRONG AGAIN The big news of the last 24 hours is the slate of "Wha...?" 80's remake announcements from our Hollywood overlords. • Universal is dusting off minor John Carpenter 80's sci-fi classic They Live, in which WWF superstar Rowdy Roddy Piper discovered that aliens lived among us and were taking over the world via well hidden subliminal messages, which could be seen by humans only with a special pair of glasses (that also revealed the disguised aliens). His response
Teenage Suicide (Don't Do It). In the fine tradition of that fictional hit from Heathers, screamo band A Skylit Drive and director Robby Starbuck seek to raise awareness about the issue. The band performs in a streaky set-up while cutaways show survivors and family members of those affected holding placards that relay their emotions. --> watch "This Isn't The End" A Skylit Drive "song" (Tragic Hero) Robby Starbuck, director | Greg Ephraim, DP
This is the second book I read by Z.A. Maxfield and this is the second time that she takes me up at night till the few hours; this time I was not able to finish the book in one session, since it's really long, almost 290 pages all filled up of words. And truth be told, the book deserves more attention and less sleep deprivation, since it's a mix of romance and mystery. Kevin is a former cop, now suspense romance writer. He lives almost like an hermit in Wyoming, in an auto inflected isolation;
A few weeks ago, Horn Group and Girls in Tech hosted an open discussion about the future of PR. In the end, we probably raised more questions than we answered. Here's the biggest one: is social media killing PR? I think its closing some doors and opening others. Frankly, if my job was focused exclusively on promoting new products to early adopters, I'd be a little worried. However, there is a whole wide world out there beyond the Silicon Valley inner circle. In some ways, so
December 3, 2008 — dandelionsalad Dandelion Salad by Ralph NaderThe Nader Page Dec. 3, 2008 In ancient China, the character for “crisis” was associated with “opportunity.” This month Congress will be faced with both challenges from General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, whose CEOS are begging for a very rapid $34 billion in emergency government loans. The three auto giants have few cards to play other than the domino effect on the economy, should they collapse into bankruptcy and liquidation. Once

The idea of diet patches is based on the marketing success of nicotine patches. One of the benefits of using a green tea diet patch is simply that it’s very simply to apply and offers no side-effects what-so-ever. So are you ready to learn more about green tea diet patches? There’s more to this than just simply being another pointless fad diet Green tea diet patches contain a high amount of green tea extract, a drink made from the steaming the leaves of the plant called Carmellia sinensis.

THE BEST OF 2008: METALLICA, AC/DC OR GUNS N’ ROSES? Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008 at 5:14pm by Vince Neilstein 2008 was a pretty big year for so-called “legacy” rock and metal releases. Metallica, AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses — arguably three of the biggest rock/metal acts of all time — all released new albums to varying fanfare. So now that you’ve had some time to brew on how these records stack up against the bands’ older material and against each other… which is your favorite? Vote, then weigh
HTC has been on something of a hardware-blitz recently. The HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro represent a distinct departure from HTC’s usual design philosophy. But, just how did HTC manage to push out one of this year’s most iconic handset designs? HTC had San Francisco-based lifestyle consultancy firm One & Co. design the sleek, faceted lines of the new Touch lineup. One & Co. did such a bang up job with the new wave of Touch handsets that HTC has acquired the company. HTC has anno
Don’t say I didn’t warn you, because I did remember… Web Success Diva gets a makeover. With our snazzy new look (thanks for all your feedback by the way), you’ll also notice a ton of new changes and things going on around here For instance, today, we experienced about 4 hours of downtime while switching to our all new servers (to prepare for our new and expected growth in traffic). So sorry :-) Heah, what can I say, stuff happens. This week, we’ll be adding new topics of interest to our

We've been kinda tough -- not undeservedly, of course -- on some recent Disney videogame releases, but there's a turnabout of sorts from a somewhat surprising outlet: the new "Club Penguin" game for the DS. It's the first major spin-off Disney has done for the uber-popular kids virtual world since purchasing it last year in a deal worth up to $700 million. As Variety critic Chris Dahlen reports, it's a fun collection of mini-games and mysteries that fits smoothly into the "Club Penguin" lands
Recently, Tim Callahan wrote this piece on why he prefers pamphlet comics over trade paperbacks. He talks about how he likes that Green Lantern and Ghost Rider are rolling around in his head a little more than Fables because he reads the former on a monthly basis and the latter in the decidedly less-frequent TPB format. Green Lantern is more top-of-mind because of the greater frequency. He also notes that because of that, he's able to get into those stories more. They're more visceral. He feels
I’d like to propose that we make every December 1 “PR Is Dead Day.” For at least three years, the “PR is dead” mantra has been a constant with bloggers on the social media right. The latest salvo was fired yesterday by Dennis Howlett, in a blog post titled PR Is So Over. Dennis’s complaint is a valid one: “In any one day I field up to 20 PR requests. I can guarantee that 90+% of them have done zero research to find out what I’m interested in. In the worst cases they won’t have done a basic Go
Valve, which has been notorious for holding its sales numbers private, has decided to crack the door open ajar to let us look at their retail numbers going back to the original Half Life. Some of the numbers are surprising, like Garry’s mod selling over 300,000 units, but others like Half Life’s 9 million units is to be expected. Missing from the list right now is newcomer, Left 4 Dead. My assumption would be that the game is realtively new, so they do not have numbers available as of yet.
