Tonight is the deadline for players to be offered arbitration. Type A free agents are the bigger concern as the signing team gives up a first round pick to the players former team ( as long as it's not a top 15 pick). Sometimes signings hinge upon whether a player is offered arbitration. For example; if a team is deciding between two players and one player has Type A compensation, the team may opt for the other player, so they don't lose the pick.
