The NAMM Show ‘08 starts this Thursday January 17th and runs through Sunday the 20th, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. It should be interesting to see what this part of the music industry is doing. We already know the record labels are losing ground fast, so we need another part [...]
Well, another tournament has come and gone. Arctic Bay sent 3 teams this year which I think is a record and the weekend went off without a hitch. I coached the 15 and under boys team and assisted with the 15 and under girls. We also had a 17 and under girls team head down as well. This was only my 4th tournament but over that short span I've been quite impressed by how much the calibre of the players, on all teams, has become. Teams that were considered "easy" just a couple years ago are now ser
Mungo Jerry Listen - Mungo Jerry - Alright Alright Alright- MP3 Greetings all. How’s by you? Me, I thought I was going to have a peaceful weekend, that would allow me to recover from several straight weeks of chaos.Little did I know….We went out to run some errands, and as we drove down the block to our house, what should I spy on our front lawn but a rather large limb, that had just that morning been attached to a rather large tree. Sometime after we went out the wind convinced said tree to rel
I started off writing this post on the train, as the stacation (taking a break from work but staying at home) part of last week became the vacation part (a few days by the seaside with my wife and sons - the fact that I woke up to snow in Buckinghamshire didn’t seem to put the boys off wanting to build sandcastles in Dorset… even with their winter coats on). The point of this is that I wanted to use the time on the train to good effect - and that meant catching up on my writing. Despite having
Feltbeats have posted the second of four parts of their exclusive interview (the first can be read here) with actor Tom Felton (Draco), where he talks about his potential project Emma of Lulworth Cove and forthcoming film The Disappeared. Below you will find all the councils who lost your money in Icelandic banks. You will also find the contact details of the leader of the respective council. Have our 10 Per Cent Challenge to hand when you write to them, telling them where they can cut spending so they don’t increase our taxes. If they only cut 10% from their publicity, payroll and pensions they could save on average £40 off the Band D council tax bill. Ask them what they will save, what middle managers they will cut back on

I am having a good day! Well, at least The Broken Plate Pendant Co. is. When I checked my email this morning I was excited to find an email from a fabulous customer of mine telling me that Rachael Ray wore my necklace on 30 Minute Meals this morning! It will re-air on Wednesday, I will be sure to get a screen shot for you. Next, I got an email from Dorset Hill Beads to tell me that I am on the front page of Etsy today! Awesome. Then an email from Amy Quarry told me that I was on her blog, Thanks

Mungo Jerry are an English folk/classic rock group whose greatest success was in the early 1970s, though they have continued throughout the years with an ever-changing line-up, always fronted by Ray Dorset. They are remembered above all for their hit "In the Summertime". Their name was inspired by the poem Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer, from T. S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. Bought in a charity shop today for a pound. This LP from 1972 on the Boulevard label is actually a compilation of songs Ray did with Good Earth from two LP's on the Saga label in 1968. Not a patch on what he did later with Mungo Jerry - these are bluesy rockers and sound rather like demos to me."Ray Dorset had his moment in the spotlight when his band, Mungo Jerry, recorded one of the biggest selling hits of 1970. "In the Summertime" is a song recorded in 1970 by the British pop-blues band Mungo Jerry. Written by the group's leader Ray Dorset, this song, which celebrates the carefree days of summer, reached the No. 1 position on charts around the world (including seven weeks in the UK) and #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the US. It is considered one of the highest selling recordings of all time with an estimated 23 million copies sold. It was unusual because the initial UK release, on Daw
