Note: I originally passed up reviewing this CD when it first came out because I couldn’t stomach this musical abortion but I have recently seen it being talked about as one of the top ten CD releases of the year and it took me over an hour to stop retching. So, I’ve decided I must review this steaming turd for your displeasure. So, enjoy my dancing about architecture about this little shiny piece of garbage. I will try to be as nice as I can. I could be cruel and say the only light shining on

It can be hard to remember a time without the Internet. Ever since Internet service providers brought this piece of technology to the public, it has been a part of our daily lives, and has produced a number of jobs as well. Nowadays, we move about and do most of our activities through the Net such as shopping, chatting, email, and even food delivery. There even are some places where you can file a police report on the precinct?s webpage. It all started out when the military needed some sort o

Absconded from Mike Says. 1. When was the last time you cried? On the outside? I don’t remember but I think I blogged about it. On the inside? Frequently. 2. Were you named after anyone? My middle name is my adopted father’s middle name. He was going to follow the family tradition of giving me his first name, but even he can’t stand it. Or so he says. 3. Why are you so fickle when it comes to women? Umm… because I like the cock? 4. What is your favorite lunch meat? Depends on who’s offering
The spotlight on the governor is even brighter now than after Sen. John McCain first chose her as his running mate, McAllister said. Barbara Walters wanted to make Palin one of her "10 most fascinating people." Requests from news media, production companies and agents ring non-stop. They want Palin to sit down for interviews. Or to write a book about her life. Or host a talk show. "The William Morris Agency has called me several times," McAllister said of the talent agency that has handled the

The Velvet Underground (original version), 1970: from Loaded With his deadpan vocals and incredible talent, the ever-stylish Lou Reed was the arbiter of coolness back in the day. If it weren???t for the inventive rock stylings of his influential band The Velvet Underground, I???m not sure a lot of the rock I love today would ever have existed. Having inspired rock n??? roll, it appears their hit ???Sweet Jane??? struck a chord in the hearts of fans and musicians alike. Not only is it one of my
Seair plane at the Batanes Airport with Mt. Iraya on the background It’s my first time in Batanes and talk about forgetting to print the e-ticket the night before our flight. Pfft. Anyway, I was not really sure if I have to print my copy since all of our names were listed in one ticket except for Eric and Dino. Luckily, Melo was able to print a copy for me. We met up at the old airport at around 5am. Melo and Nina were the early birds. After that, when Marc and Gail arrived, we lined up a

Of those four #1 albums in 1964, three of them were by The Beatles (With the Beatles, A Hard Day’s Night, and Beatles for Sale) the other one w

Aretha Franklin, who graces its Nov 27 cover, topped the Rolling Stone’s list of “100 Greatest Singers of All Time.” She has also recently released her first-ever Christmas album, “This Christmas Aretha,” a collection of classic and contemporary songs interpreted by Franklin. God, schools and television Read Peter Hitchens only in the Mail on Sunday Various contributors were enthused by Steve Lewis's posting (8th November, 1052 am) on the thread about the Ross-Brand-BBC affair. In fact, Mr Lewis was responding to what I thought was an equally important (but largely neglected) point about the brainwashing power of TV. He argued that religious education of children was comparable to the conformist influence of TV, and then went on to make an attack on religion in
Here’s the cover art for one of my latest mixes - a four disc box-set called Guitar Gods. Strike up the chorus: “But what about ____________?” There were dozens more guitarists that ideally would have been included, but four discs seemed like enough, and the line had to be drawn somewhere. World B. Furr (sometime commenter on this blog) was kind enough to collaborate on this mix wit
