The NAMM Show ‘08 starts this Thursday January 17th and runs through Sunday the 20th, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. It should be interesting to see what this part of the music industry is doing. We already know the record labels are losing ground fast, so we need another part [...]

Islamophobia Posted: 18 Nov 2008 01:00 PM CST In Robert Spencer's book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam, he quotes somebody else's long definition of "Islamophobia," which includes "attacking the entire religion of Islam as a problem for the world." And then Spencer writes: Does labeling as "Islamophobic" the practice of "attacking the entire religion of Islam as a problem for the world" mean that it is

Volkswagen UK’s ‘Polo confidence’ television commercial has been named ‘Car Ad of the Year’ by Autocar magazine. Also known as the ’singing dog’ ad, the 30 second piece won a public vote conducted by Autocar online. The ad was created by DDB London and features a Jack Russell miming along to the Spencer Davis Group hit I’m a man. It’s pretty cool. Source: Volkswagen via Automoto Portal

(Kim Constantinesco writes for Predominantly Orange, which is FSB’s Denver Broncos blog. Representing the rest of the AFC West are Arrowhead Addict, Bolt Beat and Just Blog Baby.) I watched the Wizard of Oz on Sunday night, and I saw comparisons between the movie’s characters and the AFC West. Throughout the season, the Broncos have been playing with and without their brain, the Chiefs have been searching for courage, the Chargers have been playing without heart, and the Raiders, well, they’ve

I am of two minds on Fox basically ceding the contract to broadcast the BCS to the Four-Letter. There are two sapproaches to note: the first is the quality of hte production, the second is what it means in a journalistic sense. Several of ESPN’s regular cadre of college football analysts calling for a playoff, but first, we’ll deal with the aesthetic aspect, because it’s all about what you see, and then what’s underneath. In a pure TV production sense, no sport should be handled by Fox. They do
I'll say it again DEFENSE WINS SUPER BOWLS. The Cowboys Defense kept the game close for the offense. A special shout out to LB Bradie James for leading the team with 10 tackles and a returning CB Terence Newman who coming off an injury had the second most tackles with 7 and a timely interception. DE Jay Ratliff had two big sacks that fired up the team and BEWARE D. Ware had a nice sack and 5 solo tackles. Even Tank Johnson had a nice stop for a Redskins loss. Dallas Interceptions INT YDS
Boasting the NBA’s best winning percentage to this point in the season (87.5 percent), the Lakers are the only team in the Western Conference that doesn’t have at least three losses. In fact, only one team - the Phoenix Suns - has three losses, while Houston, Utah, Portland, Denver and New Orleans have all lost four times. Sure, it’s early, but I thought it prudent to take an early-season look at the Lakers’ Division: Pacific Division Standings (Record, PCT., GB) L.A. Lakers (7-1, .875) Ph

Welcome to the Sunday Salon! I'm using this space today to respond to some recent tags. First, I was tagged by three people for the Seven Random Book Facts meme - Wendi at Wendi's Book Corner, Serena at Savvy Verse & Wit, and Melody at Melody's Reading Corner. So, here goes. 1.) My favorite genre is literary fiction. Historical fiction is a close second. 2.) View All Rays Blog Posts 30 October 2008 Random Thoughts For The Week... posted by Charles Bisbee These are my rambling thoughts of the week. I apologize for not writing more frequently. Believe it or not, I have a job (sort of) and my computer has been on death's door, so time hasn't been exactly easy to come by. I'll make it up, though, one of these days.. I guess the Phillies won the World Series the other night? Beat the Rays? Played a three-inning game or something? Who knew… I'm
