One of classic rock’s pioneers, Graham Nash has reissued his first solo album 'Songs For Beginners' which was first released in 1971. This discs first track is “Military Madness” as it’s a quintessential protest song full of twangy guitars and harmonica set to his quirky lyrical style as it was soliloquy about the Vietnam War and is relevant today with Iraq and Afghanistan wars dividing the country. “Better Days” tones things down as it’s a quaint ballad reminiscing about the past set to pian

Here's a comment of a friend FL, to the Roma show which perfectly suits what I attended yesterday evening"People in Europe who will be attending the shows are in for a treat. This is NOT the Stephen Stills you might expect. Forget about the vocals. We know Stephen can't sing like 30 years ago.Tonight he put together an EXCELLENT show. Very similar in the format to his 2 recent tours in the US: opening with the band (Helplessly Hoping), then solo. Intermission. Second set: electric with the ban
"I think there are plenty of good people in America, but there are also plenty of bad people in America and the bad ones are the ones who seem to have all the power and be in these positions to block things that you and I need. Because this is the situation, you and I have to preserve the right to do what is necessary to bring an end to that situation, and it doesn't mean that I advocate violence, but at the same time I am not against using violence in self-defense. I don't even call it violence

For the most part, my youngest boys - ages 16 months and 2 ½ years - get along well. Sure, we have had the occasional squabble over toys or a snatch-and-grab involving a sippy cup or two, but no major brawls or battles to speak of. That is, until my 2 ½ year old began channeling the spirit of a vampire and started biting. The fateful day seemed just like any other day on the home front. The kids were wandering back and forth between the living room and their bedroom, playing and watching a lit

On the bonus DVD included with the new reissue of Graham Nash’s Songs for Beginners, there is a gallery of the artist’s photography. One of the photos is of an old car, trundling down a rural one-lane road towards foggy pines in the distance. The caption reads, “Neil (Young) going home to Broken Arrow Ranch, Northern California.” I know the landscape where the photo was taken, in the rolling Santa Cruz Mountains, somewhere off of Skyline Boulevard, along the Pacific Ocean. When musicians in a highly acclaimed ensemble decide to pursue solo projects, it seems to result in either undeniable greatness or complete and utter disaster. John Lennon stepped away from the Beatles, and gave us Plastic Ono Band, one of the most gratifying Rock albums in history. Stephen Stills gave us Manassas. Lou Reed gave us Transformer. On the flip side, I don’t know anyone that owns Ride a Rock Horse by Keith Richards. Then there’s this guy named Jamie Mclean. Lately, he seems
Stephen Simmons was raised in the small town of Woodbury, Tennessee. His mother was a schoolteacher and his father held a factory job. In his family, they were the first generation that didn’t work the farm. Now a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee, Stephen’s vision entails more than just reflections of rural America. The songs on his new recording, Something In Between, deal with existential realities that are familiar to country and city dwellers alike: redemption, heartbreak, ha
