Whole Lotta Love Tag Page
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page performed the classic “Whole Lotta Love” with Leona Lewis at the
closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games. Too bad his guitar was buried deep down in the mix
during most of the song. However, we did get to hear his famous solo break in the middle, and Leona Lewis [...]
The Who At Kilburn 1977 Image Entertainment Further proof that even in drummer Keith Moon’s decline, the original Who was, without a doubt, one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands ever and a genuine live experience. This two-disc set features the band a touch ragged but still raging in the legendary footage shot at Kilburn, originally planned for the Jeff Stein documentary The Kids Are Alright (songs were re-shot months later at Shepperton Studios). Moon is still all over the map here, Pete T

In case you're wondering where I've been, I've been attending Farm School. Betcha didn't know they had such a thing, did ya? Well, since so many of the children of farmers split as soon as they could run off to the Big City, many farming families have come to an abrupt halt. There's no one left to farm the family farm. Or they couldn't afford it any more. Or the land was worth more to sell to developers than it was to grow vegetables. Now, however, there's a new bunch of farmers cropping up (

Attention all brainy music geeks. MM&W will be annoying the hell out of short-attention-spanned folks like me on Friday at the El Rey. I frankly find the division between Friday’s Kraak & Smaak show & the MM&W gig fascinating. Wanna go? Explain in the comments why you love Medeski, Martin & Wood so so so much. Winners will be chosen based on how much of a fanboy (or fangirl) you appear to be. Tickets can be purchased here. Related posts:Win Tix to Mudhoney with Japanese M
Here's my problem in a nutshell. Picture me and my problem in a nutshell trying to get out. Well, the problem is I don't want to get out. I want to stay in the nutshell with my problem. It's warm and cozy in my shell. I don't have to move much in my shell. My problem is I don't like exercise. Sure, I walk, pedal, ellipse, and do some weight-training at the health club, but I don't love it. I do it because I am there twice a week while my children have swim team practice. Without swim practice I
geothermal energy for the home by Sylvia @ 10:23 am post a comment » Let’s face it. We would all love to use wind or solar energy to power our homes, but neither one comes inexpensively! But, until they’re made more affordable and easy to own, geothermal makes an advantageous alternative to the conventional energy sources we use now. Geothermal heat pumps work in a similar manner to regular heat pumps; but, instead of using heat from the air outside, geothermal pumps capture heat found b
When it comes to being green, surprisingly, my six-year-old son is a great advocate of it. He’s like me — once he learns about something, he’s the staunchest supporter of it. When we started ridding the house of plastic disposable cups and silverware, he asked why and I told him. After that, I caught him on more than one occasion lecturing someone else about their own use of plastic disposable products, going into great detail why they should make the switch. So when we heard about the True Gre

I had a 4 day weekend (mostly due to my whirlwind week with a concert, football game, hockey game and racing banquet) and boy was there a whole lotta knitting going on! I even have some almost FO's! I knit my second Mini Felted Bag and can't decide if I'll keep #2 for me or give it as a gift (it was intended for a gift, but I'm really loving the colorway and had wanted to make one for myself, so we'll see). Yarn is Patons SWS in the Natural Violet colorway. It just needs to be felted this
And it’s a whole lotta random, people. Ready? This is me at 39 weeks and change. This is the longest I have ever been pregnant. That look on my face is one of pure surprise. I can’t figure out what to do with myself half the time because I expected to be in the throes of postpartum adjustments at this point. Due to God’s kindness and an excellent chiropractor, I’m as comfortable as I can be physically. Mentally, I am occasionally awash with The Hormones of Insanity. Which makes for good time

Old people: I lieks dem I was emailing with Nomo a while back, about Edward Albee and how I once played 'Gramma' in American Dream: it was the role of a lifetime, and I earned heaps of accolades ... from other graduate students in our rinky-dink theatre group. It was surprising to them, but not to me, how easily I transformed myself from stylish young Goth to cantankerous, stooped, straight-talkin', rule-flouting old lady. I curled my hair up tight and sprayed it silver. I wore orthopedic w
I found these patterns at the tip shop today. I'd love to make them but they are sized for a woman with considerably smaller proportions than me. I come from good farming stock, which means being woman enough to shear a sheep with one hand and milk a cow with the other. Actually, thinking back to my grandmother, Bobby, on her farm it was more like cook 4 roasts in a gigantic double oven to feed a hoard of hungry shearers. That's a whole lotta cooking! Bobby's kitchen was gigantic, as big as tho

...Of this, Aud's homemade Spicey Burgers with Cheddar Jack cheese and Butter Leaf Lettuce and this, (by the way, if you have never tried this, Lindeman's Framboise Lambic, TRY IT! Especially if you like raspberries or fruit beers. I'm not a huge fan of beer at all, and I rarely drink, however, the first time I went to Belgium I had one of these and it was love at first sip. It's pretty pricey ($8-$10 per 12oz bottle), but once a year or so I splurge and I think that turning 40 was

According to his followers, Ram Bahadur Bomjon is no less than the reincarnation of Siddhartha Gautama aka the Buddha.Buddha Boy became famous three years ago when people flocked to watch him sit cross-legged under a tree in a remote area of south-east Nepal. They claim Bomjon spent 10 months meditating without eating or drinking. When he emerged from this death defying retreat Bomjon didn't exactly look emaciated. You have to suspect someone was slipping him some fruit or possibly power bars an
