The Beatles: Rock Band Come Together 09-09-09
Beatles Rock Band? Oh Yeah! I want one after 09-09-09, which is the new release date, according to the website thebeatlesrockband.com
It took all three of them to make it happen, but Apple Corps Ltd., MTV and Harmonix have announced the official release date for The Beatles: Rock Band on September 9th, or 09-09-09.
It seems odd to see a Beatles video game coming out before their management company will officially license the band’s music for worldwide digital distribution. But that won’t matter when this first-of-it’s-kind-interactive-music-video-game is released to the world at large. Beatle fans, myself included, will snap it up in record numbers, no matter which price point you ponder.
There’s three versions, two of which will include new guitars, bass, microphone or drums, and all versions will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii. The company won’t say what the instruments are like, but we can dream of John’s Rickenbacker or George’s Telecaster. How about a Hofner bass or a Ludwig drum controller?
The Beatles: Rock Band (MSRP:)
Software alone $59.99
Game & Standalone Guitars $99.99
Limited Edition Premium Bundle $249.99
Of course, the best part is the music, which was supervised for this project by Giles Martin, whose father George I consider to be the real “fifth Beatle.” The Martins were behind the Grammy winning LOVE soundtrack album, so you know this is going to be good.
mtv.com also has a great write up about it.
