The Fame Bureau

Another rock ‘n roll auction recently sold music memorabilia from Elvis, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles. This is a pretty common event these days, but the name behind the transaction is what caught my eye this time.

I hadn’t heard of The Fame Bureau before, but their website says…

Ted Owen, the Fame Bureau’s Managing Director is recognized as one of the World’s leading experts in Music Memorabilia, and has been at the top of his field for 30 years. Ted joined ex-city investment banker turned Pop-Artist James Wilkinson and together they formed the groundbreaking auction house The Fame Bureau.

They have some really interesting videos (or “investigative stories”) on their YouTube channel about Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, The Beatles, John Lennon, Cliff Richard, John Bonham, Stevie Nicks, Barbara Streisand, David Bowie, Bryan Adams and Paul Weller.

Here’s a link to the Associated Press story on their latest auction:

The Fame Bureau also has a channel on YouTube:

I have an e-mail from Ted Owen, owner of The Fame Bureau admitting to selling fake autographs. This guy is well known in the field for selling many doubtful items. beware!!!

Thanks for your comment and sharing concerns about fakes. Goes to show you can never be too sure about what you buy online.

I’ve read that autographs are the hardest thing to authenticate. There’s a fine line between proving it’s real and accepting the seller’s word that it’s authentic.
    So buyer beware!
