While My Guitar Gently Weeps the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
This video of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” surfaced on Facebook yesterday, so I just had to share it with you. It’s a great version of George Harrison’s song, one of my favorite tracks from The Beatles White Album.
It’s from 2004 when George Harrison as a solo artist was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
What a fantastic line up of musicians; Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince (on a sweet vintage Telecaster,) Dhani Harrison, and Marc Mann, who nailed Clapton’s lead guitar solo. There’s not much info on Marc Mann, but he was also a featured guitar player in the backup band on the Concert for George, and he did alot of the slide solos on that show too. What a great player!
